Galactomy Clearskin Toner

Korean skin care is known for their hydrating toners, but these must not be confused with an exfoliating toner. These serve a different purpose and fight other skin problems as well.

The “Galactomy Clearskin Toner” from ma:nyo is an ideal example of a exfoliating toner. It works like a peeling but does not remove dead skin and impurities in a “mechanical” way, such as a sugar scrub, but contains chemical acids that have the same effect, but are gentler and are therefore also suitable for sensitive skin.

This toner combines the two best-known acids on the market:

• AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) – is water-soluble, acts mainly on the surface of the skin, reduces sun damage and fine lines
• BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid / Salicylic Acid) – is fat-soluble, making them ideal for deeply cleaning clogged pores and reducing blackheads and other impurities

The formulation is also supported by “Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate”. This is an enzyme that supports the above properties and reduces the skin’s oil production to prevent future problems.

Exfoliants can dry out the skin, which is why ingredients such as rice bran extract or witch hazel have been added to hydrate and soothe the skin, thereby preventing dehydration and irritation.

In addition, the toner is alcohol-free, which often irritates sensitive skin, and the pH value is between 4.5 and 6.5, which is an ideal value so as not to damage the skin barrier.

Application:

In the morning and/or in the evening after cleansing, apply the toner to a cotton pad and wipe gently over the face.

Even if the toner is suitable for daily use due to its mild formulation, we recommend increasing the use slowly. Especially with sensitive skin, it is better to start off using the toner only once a week and gradually increase the use per week.
